Phosphate-Buffered Saline (PBS) is a balanced salt solution used in various cell culture applications, such as washing cells before dissociation, transporting cells or tissues, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents. The formulation of PBS contains no calcium or magnesium, and it is used to rinse chelating agents from cultures prior to cell separation.
